VOCABULARY FROM THE BOOK

CHAPTER 4
Betray: To be unfaithful or disloyal
Eerie: strange and mysterious, so as to inspire awe
Inn: a small hotel

CHAPTER 5
Curse: The expression of a wish that misfortune happen to someone
Distressed: Affected with or suffering from distress
Musty: having an odor or flavor that suggests mold
Whisk: To move, remove, carry, snatch, etc., with a rapid brushing or sweeping stroke

CHAPTER 6

Summon: To call for the presence of somebody.

CHAPTER 7 
Clatter: To make a loud, rattling sound, such as that produced by hard objects striking one another
Drain: To empty by drawing off liquid
Scamper: To run or go hastily

Slump: To fall heavily
